Abstract

After presenting some examples of the contemporary philosophical approach to the theme of “difference”, the essay focuses on analysing the relationship between “ontological difference” and “theological difference” starting from the writings of Emanuele Severino. The author’s intention is not only to examine the two main phases of Severino’s thought, showing its elements of continuity and those that mark its new course, but also, and above all, to indicate the reasons that point towards a “theoretical integration” of Severino’s position on the ontological difference, and how it is distinguished from Heidegger’s thought. In the final part, the reasons for a speculative commitment in the field of metaphysics are underlined.
