Dell’emendare l’intelletto

La relazione tra individuo e verità si risolve nella coincidenza dell’individuo nella verità, il che nel corso della storia è stato inteso in maniere differenti e non sempre conciliabili. Di fatto, al presente si impone invece come estremamente diffusa l’accettazione della non-verità, ossia della accettazione passiva del contingente. Si tratta di una società – quella occidentale – particolarmente dominata dalla economia, dal relativismo, dall’edonismo che appaiono come le uniche modalità di vivere. È allora evidente che la condizione di partenza per un discorso che voglia veramente ripensare il rapporto individuo-verità è il rigetto di un tale modo di pensiero estremamente fragile e apparentemente seducente.

The relationship between the person and truth is resolved in the coincidence of the person in the truth, which throughout history has been understood in different ways and not always compatible. In fact, this is imposed instead as extremely common acceptance of non-truth, that is the passive acceptance of the contingent. It is a society – the West – particularly dominated by the economy, relativism, hedonism that appear as the only way of living. It is then clear that the precondition for an address that really wants to rethink the relationship between man and truth is the refusal of such a way of thinking extremely fragile and apparently seductive.
