The paper focuses on the issue of training and professionalism of educators and educationalists, based on a critical analysis of the planetary scenario in which these professionals act through their intellectual work. This perspective requests to educational research to have an epistemological, theoretical and operational responsibility in order to renew itself in an original synthesis between traditions and innovations respecting, meanwhile, the postulates and principles of a real education understood as a right of each subject to be citizen of the Earth and without abandoning dialogue with the professional world and the labor market.
