The present essay is aimed to highlight the pedagogical advantages of taking into consideration the meaning of an interpretative perspective defi nition of ‘the suburb.’ By doing so ‘the suburb’ is, in our paper, interpreted as a generative space of possibilities and occasions useful to rethink theories and practices that seem to be only for appearance foreign to it. At a later time, we concentrate our study to recall concisely a project realized in the Salento that is a empiric based for the observations focused in the first part.
