Abstract

During last years, the ministerial decrees underline the skills that the instructional institutions must promote in the development of the students. These skills do not diminish the role of knowledge of disciplines in educational contexts, but they point out their ultimate aims. These purposes, then, do not appear different from those of the traditional school, and therefore the problem would lie in training teachers to the awareness that their role does not end in the transmission of disciplinary knowledge, but it is necessary that aims at the promotion of a conscious and critical use of knowledge itself. This contribution after discussing the current regulations concerning the didactics for competencies, will examine the impact that this didactics plays on teachers and the ways of teacher training so that they are able to promote education for competence. It is therefore to identify roads that teachers become active part of citizenship, feeling their role as citizens and promoting it in students.
