Abstract

Lo scopo che si prefigge il seguente articolo è quello di mostrare come le grandi forze che dominano la nostra civiltà lungi dall’essere unicamente protese verso il futuro e dimentiche del passato siano piuttosto destinate a tentare prima o poi di realizzare il sogno di poter dominare il passato. La ragione di ciò, come si mostrerà, risiede nella constatazione che, trovandosi il vertice dell’essenza della tecnica nella volontà di rendere il passato un voluto e dato l’apparato scientifico-tecnologico come scopo finale di tali forze, non ne può che conseguire che anche tali forze dovranno perseguire il tentativo di realizzazione del vertice dell’apparto scientifico-tecnologico, ossia la dominazione del passato. Infine si mostrerà, grazie alla riflessione orwelliana in 1984, come sia forse già possibile intravvedere nello sviluppo storico della nostra civiltà e delle forze che la guidano, i primi segnali di questa crescente importanza assunta dalla volontà di dominare il passato.

The aim of the following article is to show how the great forces that dominate our civilization are rather destined to try, sooner or later, to realize the dream of being able to dominate the past, as they are far from being solely directed towards the future and forgetful of the past. As it will be shown, the reason for this lies in the following observation. The will to make the past a wanted is the culmination of the technique essence, and given the scientific-technological apparatus as the final purpose of these forces, it can only happen that also these forces must pursue the attempt to achieve the culmination of the scientific-technological apparatus, which is the domain of the past. Finally, thanks to the Orwellian reflection in 1984, it will be showing how it is perhaps already possible to glimpse the first signs of this growing importance assumed by the will to dominate the past in the historical development of our civilization and the forces that guide it.
