Abstract

Interpretative analysis of a graffito on a vase from Kültepe-Kanesh Ib (1830-1700 B.C.), which represents (one of) the most ancient attestation of the Anatolian Hieroglyphic writing. The legend expresses a personal name, unattested up to now, phonetically rendered by logo-syllabic elements. The morphological analysis favors its attribution to the Hittite linguistic domain.
