Artistic practices often intersect with the question of the dispositif and with media environments. This kind of works have relevance in the current artistic landscape and often refers to a context linked to the end of medium specificity. Some artists like Omer Fast, recently decided to link the spectatorial experience to the construction of an environment that has the ability of modifying the management of perception, and thus expands to a bodily and tactile level which asks the spectator to immerse herself/himself in a redefined space, as it happens in the exhibition “Talking is not always the solution” (2016-17). Starting from this case study we want to consider the role of media environments in contemporary audiovisual practices in order to reflect on both their material dimension and on their role in redefining the effect of reality in the cinematographic field.
