Abstract
The article focuses on the way through which Mario Perniola evaluated the Brazilian musical and cultural movement of the late sixties known as “Tropicália”. Since after the appearance of this movement in 1968 — and especially during the celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2018 – there has been a considerable amount of approaches among Brazilian intellectuals, it is a purpose of the article as well to compare their viewpoints with Perniola’s, as an important contemporary philosopher who dedicated his attention to the aforementioned cultural phenomenon.
